Meet Susan, our adorable kitty with a heart of gold.
Susan enjoys basking in the sun, receiving neck scratches, and exploring our fenced yard in search of bugs.
We are hoping someone on the Monterey Peninsula has a place where she can continue to enjoy life to the fullest.
Susan is not at risk of homelessness. We're relocating in mid-May and our destination is workable, just not ideal for Susan.
But, Susan has unique needs that require a special home & human.
If you are interested in adopting a special needs cat, please read on to see if you might be a good fit. We will only place her with someone who meets all the criteria.
Susan's Needs
We rescused Susan as a kitten after she was struck by a car, which caused nerve damage to her rear end. Her needs aren't complicated, but they are somewhat specific. She's around 7 years old.Her Issue: Bladder and Bowel Control
Unfortunately, she isn't able to control her bladder and bowel movements, often resulting in accidents.
Her Ideal Location: Outdoor with a Tall (6'+) Fence
Susan thrives in a secure, escape-proof environment where she can roam freely. She prefers the outdoors, but if indoors, must wear diapers. We keep her in a large kennel at night, with wood shavings on the floor. When inside, she is pretty good about letting us know when she needs to go outside.
Her Dietary Requirements
She follows a simple, but specific diet to maintain her health, which is easy to follow but crucial for her well-being. (Common wet food with Miralax plus some common dry food.)
Our Biggest Concern
If she strays from home and eats elsewhere, or if her diet varies too much, she may get constipated and need an enema.
Other Details
Susan gets along well with dogs and would happily coexist with them.
But, Susan prefers to be the only cat in her territory.
All our kennels would be yours to keep.
